A couple of weeks ago Hunter emailed the licensee at Manacle and expressed an interest in becoming resident bootblack there, and last Friday night he went in for an interview/chat about the prospect. The outcome is that he has a trial on Saturday 17th March, (LEATHER/SLPA Pub Night) and depending on how that goes he has the opportunity to have a permanent spot, permanent nights. Apparently Manacle have been looking for someone to do bootblacking there for about two years with no luck, so they are also keen to see how this goes.
What he needs now is people to come down on the 17th and get their boots polished... the more folk who support this initiative the more likely Manacle will be to make it permanent. He won't be charging a fee, although there will be a donation boot should you wish to drop some coins his way. Those of you who have had your boots done by Hunter know that he does a very good job, and takes a great deal of pride in his bootblacking. So please, come and support your local leather bar and help get this service up and running!!
Manacle, while predominantly being a leather mens bar, does not restrict clientele for not wearing leather or for not having a penis, so yes, women are welcome and you don't have to be wearing cow hide to come along.
Please pass this info along to anyone you know who might be interested, cross-post it to your own LJ's, or anywhere else you think is appropriate... and please, come along on the night!
