New Office

So the move into the new office (sharing with 3 people I don't like) has now happened as of 1.5 hours ago... and already there has been bitching and arguing and snide remarking... *sigh* ...

It's nice having a freshly painted, newly carpeted, brand-new desk and filing space office, and a window right next to my desk, and lots of natural light though... those are happy things :o)

LOL!! Yours looks lovely and lived in, and it would appear you have a fabulous view as well!! You should have seen the old one! The chick who organised the refurbishment keeps telling us we shouldn't have anything on our desks apart from the PC, phone and whatever we're working on at the moment, she doesn't want trays on desks, or anything on the walls because they're newly painted and it looks messy when you've got things stuck all over the walls... she had a snit at me for putting a map of our boundaries on the divider behind my desk - never mind that we refer to it constantly... I got cranky and told her to cope... it's bad enough that I have to share with 3 people I don't like without another person I truly can't stand coming in and snitting at me...

Sounds like she's been reading them 'super efficient work practice' type books and taking them a bit too literally. We can't all work in Bauhaus minimalism. If people can work in a sterile, un-humanised environment then they're welcome to it - some of the things I'm delirious to have now that our stuff has arrived are my office things so I can personalise my space!

Yeah, they did that when ours was new, too... I lasted about two days =)
My manager keeps berating me and saying he can't believe they haven't called me on it - I think it's just that they wouldn't know where to start!
