Dear Friends & Universe,

My faithful old dinosaur of a washing machine decided to retire from the laundry business a couple of weeks ago, effective immediately. I can't complain, as she came to me for free when a friend moved overseas, and she's given me many years of clean clothes in her old age, but obviously her sudden retirement leaves me with a gap in the workforce of my home appliances. And really, I can't keep lugging my laundry up the street and bothering Ange every time I run out of clean undies (although I, and my undies, are very grateful and relieved that she's so close and has a non-monogamous relationship with her whitegoods).

I need a new (cheap second-hand) washing machine. I have now been pipped at the post THREE times on Ebay, confirming what I have long suspected, which is that I have no Ebay-fu at all. Nonetheless, I will continue to try and Outplay, Outsmart and Outbid other contestants in my own private game of Survivor: Ebay Island. Hopefully I can win a washing machine before I get voted off.

In the meantime, I am practicing the art of manifesting desire by putting it out there to my friends list, and the universe, that I want a (cheap, second-hand but in good working order) washing machine, preferably 5.5kg capacity or thereabouts.

Thank you very much!

Tam xo
