Footballer getting it right!

Watching the news, and they had a story about Bulldogs player Ben Hannant and his biggest fan, Bianca - an 18yo girl with Downs Syndrome. Bianca met him a while ago at a fan day, and he took the time to chatg to her, and has kept in touch with her since then. He found out she was graduating from high school and asked who she was taking to her formal, when she said she didn't have a date he asked if he could take her. He flew back to Sydney from a family holiday in Queensland especially to take her to her formal last night, turning up with a corsage for her and everything.

It's so nice seeing a story about a footballer doing something genuinely good. Kudos Ben!

There's a lot of good things those boys do, so much more good than bad.

I know more about the South Sydney boys than anyone, and they do a look of fantastic unheralded local community work. :)

And it's nearly football season (OK, in 3 months) and you've given me a chance to get a Souths mention in.

I know there are plenty of guys in the league who do good stuff, it just never gets mentioned, which is a shame really... the media should be doing the positive enforcement thing of lauding good behaviour! This story just really touched me...
