Guess I better answer them then!

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I held the dream for years of being a Veterinarian (and I always gave it the full name too...), specifically I wanted to be a Zoo Vet..

2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened?
Nope, realised I'd have to do lots of science subjects and do really really well in them and was realistic enough to know that my "special aptitude" didn't lie with the science side of things...

3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse?
No it's not really... I thought when I was a kid I would get married when I was 24 (coz that's how old mum told me I had to be) and would have a whole bunch of babies and be a happy housewife and devoted mother who was ALWAYS there for her kids. Hehehe. I'm glad that didn't happen, this life is much better!

4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self?
I'd tell her she was important, and beautiful, and smart. I'd tell her she didn't have to try and be what other people wanted her to be in order for them to like her. I'd tell her she was brave, and I'd tell her to not be so afraid.

5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become?
Yeah I think so. I think I managed to grow up into the kind of adult I never knew I wanted to be, or could be...
1. What do you wear to bed?
Nothing generally... although sometimes a t-shirt when it's REALLY cold!!

2. What side of the bed do you sleep on?
If you lay on your back in the middle of the bed and roll to the left, that's my side... now get back on the other side!!!

3. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
Not since I was a kid... although very occassionally if I'm really sick or depressed I might drag my bunny (stuffed toy I've had since I was a baby and slept with all through childhood) out and snuggle him a little... it's been a couple of years since the last time though...

4. Blanket/bed hog?
Not really, if i'm sharing the bed I'm usually the one who wakes up hanging on the edge of the mattress with no covers! Sleeping alone I do tend to sleep diagonally across the bed and take up as much space as possible!

5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Well.. I generally pull the covers up, but don't MAKE it as such...
1. How do you feel about the technology advancements of cloning people and animals?
It scares me... I don't think nature should be so greatly tampered with, our species has done quite enough to over-run the world, starve it of resources, pollute it nearly to extinction, and corrupt nature for the sake of convenience without replicating ourselves or animals as well... and that's not even considering the ethical arguments... don't have time or space for them! And cloning is a genetic/physical thing, so who's to say that the cloned person, who identically resembles in every physical aspect the person of whom they are a clone, will have the same soul, personality, id and ego??

2. If this technology became readily available to all, how do you think this will affect the future of our race?
I think it has the potential to devalue life... if you knew it would be possible to recreate yourself or a loved one, then the value we place on our life, or the lives of others, would not be as high... part of why we love people that are precious to us is because we know they can't be replaced.. what happens when they CAN be replaced?? Do our loved ones become as valuable as our toaster? "My partner/toaster carked it this morning and I really liked her/it.. thank science I can replace it with the same model"

3. If your much loved pet died and cloning was available, would you elect to have your pet cloned? What about family and friends?
Nope, definitely not.

4. Would your family have your consent to be cloned? Why or why not?
Not sure I understand this question... would I consent to my family being cloned? I have no control over the decisions of others... I would advocate strongly against it though. Would I consent to be cloned for the sake of my family? Hell no.

5. If you had the authority to clone any person no longer alive, who would it be any why?
I wouldn't
* What things did you enjoy as a child that you no longer do?
Colouring in, finger painting, walking along fences/low walls etc holding dad's hand

* What things did you enjoy as a child that you still do today?
Playing "let's pretend" (okay, so I call it Role Play now, and the games are a little different, but the basic precept is the same), walking barefoot in the rain and jumping in puddles, lose myself in my imagination, read every night before going to sleep, moosh Milo into vanilla icecream and mix it up till it's soft and a little melted and chocolatey and good and then eat it :o)

* What things do you do now, that the child you were never thought you'd like?
Eat sushi, have a distant relationship to my father, smoke, have sex

* If you could go back to one age and stay there for a while, what would it be?
I wouldn't, that time is gone and my life is better now than I remember it being as a child

* If you could fast forward to an age (you do get to come back!) for a while, what would it be?
I don't think I would, it would be tempting to fast forward about 10 years and see what my life will be like, but it would spoil the adventure and surprise and journey of getting there, and I might be tempted to change things or make decisions based on that knowledge which could affect the outcome... I believe in fate, and believe that life takes us where we are meant to be at any given point in time... sometimes we just have to trust to that.
1. What was your favorite breakfast cereal when you were a kid?
Porridge... hot steamy gooey porridge with a little extra milk and brown sugar to melt into dark brown swirls of sweet sugary goodness... hmmm... wonder if I have any oats in the cupboard??

2. What is the best toy/prize you ever got in a box of cereal or because of sending in UPC’s?
Never did that...

3. How do you take your eggs (scrambled, over easy, egg beaters)?
Poached, softly... or scrambled (preferably with smoked salmon and spring onions stirred through at the end)... or if fried is the only option, sunny side up with JUST cooked whites..

4. What is your favorite breakfast meat (bacon, ham, sausage)?
Bacon, or smoked salmon in scrambled eggs, or in place of ham in Eggs Benedict, yummo!

5. What is your favorite spot (local or chain restaurant) for breakfast and where is it located?
The Post cafe in Marrickville is a favorite, The Kiosk at Cronulla Beach is an old favorite I haven't been to in a very long time... or Sp's kitchen when he's making pancakes :o)
(1) What do you picture when you think of lawyers?
white wigs and robes, really sharply intelligent and arrogant people

(2) What do you picture when you think of accountants?
Boring little men in brown suits with glasses, who list their hobbies as stamp-collecting and amateur taxidermy...

(3) What do you picture when you think of clergy?
Old, repressed, right-wing bigots who are intent on keeping society as repressed as they are, particularly if it gives them more power...

(4) What do you picture when you think of garbagemen?
My dad and his mates... sweaty stinky larrikins in king gee shorts who are loud and boisterous and merry...

(5) What do you picture when you think of a best friend?
Each of the fabulous people who fill that role in my life... love, laughter, safety, comfort, challenge, support and fun...
1.) Do you believe in love at first sight? Why or why not?
No, love is something that needs time to grow, based on trust and understanding and emotional intimacy... LUST is what happens on sight!

2.) What physical feature attracts you the most (romantically) to another person?
Eyes and a cheeky smile

3.) What do you think is the biggest benefit of being in a romantic relationship?
Having someone you can feel safe and comfortable with no matter what, oh, and regular sex :o)

4.) Biggest downside?
Can't think of one really...

5.) Has your idea of love and romance changed? If so, how?
Yep, used to think love = monogamy...
1. You have the summer and plenty of money to travel abroad. Where all would you go?
If money and time were no obstacles, I would go to Canada, Alaska, visit my sister in North Carolina, San Francisco, New York, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Holland, Belgium, Prague, Venice, Rome, Tuscany, Greek Islands, Barcelona, Vietnam, China and back home...

2. What foods would you be sure you got to eat?
I always like to try local specialities when I'm overseas, generally try and head off the beaten tourist path and find "local" cafes & restaurants...

3. What landmarks would you be sure you got to see?
Oh I can't possibly list them all, all those places have so many wonderful sights to take in... some of the stand-out ones I guess would be the Blarney Stone in Ireland (I wanna kiss it and see if it brings me luck!), I'd like to visit Prince Edward Island in Canada (childhood love of Anne of Green Gables), The Castro in San Fran... then I guess the main tourist type things in the other places...

4. What airline would you use?
Probably a combination depending on flight schedules and so on... whatever was going to make travelling easiest..

5. Would your knowledge of other languages influence where you went? (i.e. would you be more likely to go to France if you spoke French?)
Nah, I speak Dutch and German, and a tiny bit of Spanish, but I'm good with a phrasebook and the language barrier can usually be overcome with a little patience and creativity... and it adds an element of adventure and fun when you can't read any of the signs around you or understand what people are saying!!
