The older I get, the faster time seems to swim by, this year has passed in a blink.
I eschewed the kind offer of joining end of year festivities at Chez Kitty, in favour of ending the year quietly at home on my own. I'm not a fan of New Years parties, there is always this sense of pressure, above and beyond the usual party pressure, and I would rather be alone on my own, than alone in a crowd. Which sounds maudlin, but that's not how I intend it at all. For all that I moan about not having a significant other to share my life with, when I stop the voices in my head I remember that I am ok on my own, better than ok, I like my own company, and I enjoy spending time alone.
This year arrived when I was surrounded by my beautiful urban family, there was much alcohol, naked frolicking in an inflatable pool and lots of trashy fun silliness and laughter.
So, quiet content solitude for the start of 2009... I have indulgent food, a bottle of wine, a cat, and trashy DVD's.
Happy New Year folks ... may it bring you enough of what you want, and everything you need. xo
