quiregrrlI had a three day weekend and I feel like I didn't have a break at all... was a busy bee doing stuff and dashing all over town... but highlights include making a bondage skirt which I'm rather proud of, even though it's way too big because I suck at anything involving numbers (ie measuring), successfully wearing brand new bondage skirt, leather corset, and false eyelashes with diamantes lining the edge of the eyelid to gurlesque on Saturday night... some of the performances at Gurlesque were a touch disappointing and dare I say it, lame, but Ginger Snap completely won the cute santa girl routine, and Lillian Starr's milkmaid/milk bath... oh my... her milkshake might bring all the boys to the yard but I gotta say, it also brought the dew to my lady garden*... and that was followed up by Sal Tomcat who made the entire Manning Bar smell like boot polish, set fire to the polish and melted it, then dripped it down hys chest and stomach, went from flanny jarmies to leather chaps, and on top of being very very hot and smelling good, was funny too... I had a garden party* :)
On a somewhat related but side note... anyone want their boots polished?
Giftmas season is officially here. Yesterday i caught the Xmas bus from the city to the Den... it looked like the Xmas Fairy had thrown up... As I got on the bus and looked up I said "Jesus!" in shock, and the driver quipped "I think he's about the only thing we DON'T have on here". This is the Xmas bus:
... seriously, if it could be covered in tinsel it was, every passenger window had a "Merry Xmas" banner or santa, or snowman, or something... there were bells hanging at the front that jingled as we drove along, there were baubles and shiny things... it was very entertaining watching as people got on the bus :)
The tree is currently going up in Taylor Square, it was half done when I went out at lunch, and it would seem we're not getting the giant plastic foliage tree covered in baubles and lights this year... instead it seems we will have a stylised gold conical thing...

... It's hard to see, but there are actually two men up inside the top of the cone in this picture fiddling around with stuff.
Best boy is flying off overseas on Thursday so we hung out on Sunday evening and he gave me my Giftmas present early. About 6 months ago we were out shopping together and I drooled over various frocks and shirts made with tattoo fabric and lamented that they never come in fatchick sizes, he remembered this, put it together with my desire to make some fabulous 50's style summer frocks, and found and purchased for me 2 metres of tattoo fabric... like this:
but even better because the background colour is pale dusty pink instead of this tea stain colour... PINK OLD-SCHOOL TATTOO FABRIC. And as if that wasn't enough, he gave me the Action Heroine's Handbook as well. So anyhow, I now have 5 and a half weeks to make a fabulous 50's style summer frock incorporating this gorgeous fabric, because it has to be done before he gets back.
I want to be on holidays... I want time off over xmas/ny as well... boo.

* Over the weekend I came across the term "Lady Garden" as a polite euphemism for "cunt" ... and while I love cunt, I'm having a wee love affair with Lady Garden at the moment. Bear with me, I'll get over it soon enough.
