Good things

I rode to the station this morning, it's sooo much quicker than walking, or even catching the bus (by the time I walk to the bus stop, wait for the bus, sit in traffic etc). I went for another ride yesterday as well, down to the park where I sat in sunshine and ate my cheesymite sandwich and read my book, and then home again. Each time I ride I feel a little more steady and secure, which is a good thing, and I managed to negotiate traffic and pedestrians this morning (I did half the ride to the station on the road, and half on the footpath - once I got into the busy/scary main street) and didn't fall off, or hit anyone/thing. I still have the adrenaline shakes when I get off, and I still don't feel entirely confident, but it's a little bit better every time :)
I got a parcel in the mail yesterday, best boy bought handlebar streamers on ebay and had them sent straight to me, he is completely made of awesome!! I didn't open the parcel until I was at work this morning, so I shall be installing them when I get home!
Saturday on the weekend was one of the best days I've had in ages... a road trip up the mountains with two best girls, breakfast that was completely worth driving from Sydney to Blackheath for, foraging and squeeing and getting jointly and seperately excited at fabulous things in fabulous antique stores (Sugar Daddy, Sugar Daddy, wherefore art thou Sugar Daddy?), driving through the incredibly beautiful Capertee Valley, picnic of super-nom in the tiny almost-ghost-town of Glen Davis, and then travelling home with silly games of eye-spy, and soooo much laughter, all day, from the moment we started to when we got home... I love my girls :)
I am looking forward to getting home, so I can ride my bike again ... it's very strange to find myself looking forward to doing something that resembles exercise... but I am. I love it, I love my bike and it's no doubt purely imaginary at this point, but I feel like it's already making me feel stronger and fitter. I'm also loving how many people have said they wanna go riding with me... I think there needs to be some kind of regular riding group, every second Sunday or something... most of us live near/along the bike path alongside the cooks river, so we could just set a route and meet up at various points along there and ride to wherever and have coffee or picnic or beer or whatever, and then ride back... be our own pedal-powered group of dykes on bikes :)
