quiregrrlLast Saturday I had the joy of spending the day hanging out with Ange and making my new bookcase... Ange is clever at this stuff, I am not, but I can follow direction (mostly), and over some hours, with frequent breaks for cups of tea and cigarettes and gossip, we succeeded in completing it!
Ange let me use her power tools... this is the sander thingumajig... I squealed a bit... she let me use the drill too, I didn't squeal at that, but it was awesome! :)

And ensconced in my lounge room with stuff on it... the difference it makes is quite amazing... I love it so much! There was a great big armchair against this wall previously, and all of those books were wedged on top of, and stacked in front of, the books in my other bookcases, so putting this bookcase in and getting rid of the armchair has made the room seem heaps bigger and brighter, there's better flow through between the front and back hallways, and most importantly, my bookcases are all neat and uncluttered again!! I just need to get a basket/bucket thing for the bottom spot, which will be the clutterbucket for all those little things that seem to end up on my coffee table or around the loungeroom but don't really have a home... so then I can go rummaging through it when I need something!
Anyhow, HUGE thanks to Ange for making this happen, she is awesome!
this was a huge post... about my whole week... mum being here, funeral on wednesday... and then LJ shut down for maintenance and ate it... the above was all that surfaced when I came back and hit "repost from draft"...
