If a dog were a teacher you would learn stuff like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take Naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout! run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you've had enough.

Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

"Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy." Oh yeah. That's a lot of what the motorcycle gives me. As for practicing obidience when it's in my best interest, I've got that one down well! Now if I could just work on the not buying into guilt thing, it'd be in pretty good shape.

LOL! rthe obedience thing is one I need to work on!! ... a friend pointed out today that I already have the whole body wag down quite well :o) I tend to bounce when I'm happy and excited, she thinks that's close enough to full-body wagging *G*

You don't understand. It's the "when it's in my best interest" part that does it for me. If Casey barks something at me that she wants me to do - and it will probably end up being *in my best interest* = getting laid, I'll usually do it! Otherwise, I'm not so good at it and have no plans to work on that! A therapist once hit the nail right on the head for me when he said, "The hardest thing for you to do is what somebody else tells you to do - even if it's what you were planning to do in the first place!"

Ohhhhh!!!! I should read a bit closer LOL!! Okay, well I've got THAT down!! I'm very obedient... when it suits me :o) I also tend to pause a little before being obedient, never too long, just long enough so it's clear I'm doing it because I choose to, not just because I was TOLD to :o) And people call me a brat... go figure! *G*
