I'm not drunk, but i am up very late. An evening of sitting around the back patio with Leesa and Hubes, BBQ, euchre, too many cigarettes, good music, wax-play with myself*, inconseqential chatter. Good for the soul.

I have good family xo

* those big pillar candles need the melted pool tipped out every now and then or they drown the wick. I was being helpful and tipping it on my arms and making mystery wax rorschach blots. A mouse wearing a beret, beeker (the muppet) wearing a chefs hat, a carousel dragon/knight falling off a horse with his lance up in the air.

for [livejournal.com profile] freeq ... I had the song wrong, this is the one I was thinking of :)

This is entirely the fault of the timelife infomercial on TV flogging the Ultimate Rock Ballads Collection... and excellent evidence as to why I should not stay up so late with the TV on. Thank fuck for youtube, otherwise I may have given TimeLife my credit card details.

Lighters at the ready? commence.

Ok, I admit, the last two aren't on the illustrious line-up of Ultimate Rock Ballands (it only includes 70s and 80s, so Nothing Else Matters missed out by 2 years, but Patience was released in '89 and they still fucking overlooked it!), but I had to throw them in. They are quintessential Rock Ballads in my opinion, and both hold special, sacred, places in my heart for different reasons. I was deeply, deeply in love with Axl Rose from the age of 16 to 19. Redheads have always been a weakness. And girly boys. And watching this now, I understand where my love of boys in short tight shorts and big boots comes from. I still love him a little bit, I can't deny it.

I really should go to bed.
