I got a call from Ms Dee of Uber last night, asking if I'd be willing to be the demo bottom for Lukas Zpira's Scarifiction Workshop again... almost exactly a year ago he branded me in the same workshop, and they were in need of a branding demo bottom again. Of course, I said yes.
So after work this evening I toddled off to Uber, and in front of 20 or so perverts Lukas added to my branding from last year... I'd post pics but it's really impossible to get a photo of one's own upper arm and shoulder. I'll make one of the less squeamish folk at work take a pic for me :) It was good for demonstrating purposes, as folk were able to see how the brand looks when it's healed, as well as the way the scar will spread from the initial strike - the difference between the fresh strikes, and the scars from last year is very noticeable.
Being branded is such a strange experience... even knowing what was coming, I was still surprised at that brief flaring intensity of pain, and how quickly it fades... the sound of flesh crackle-sizzling... and the smoke from my own charred flesh wafting past my face. It's really quite insane... I found myself thinking that about halfway through, the sheer insanity of willingly and happily offering my skin up to be burned, BURNED... sizzle, the same sound a piece of steak makes in that initial moment when you drop it on a hot BBQ.. INSANE.
Very very cool though, and when Dee joked about making me the Uber Artwork in Progress, gradually adding to my brand over the years, I grinned and said I'd be delighted :)
And I still think Lukas is very hot. He's on the "exception" list. Definitely.
