World Aids Day

Outside my office building, over in Taylor Square the Police Band is currently rocking it's way through a fabulous collection of classic gay anthems with a wee blond lady in a very colourful frock helping out on vocals... there is a free (donations welcome) sausage sizzle and free (donations welcome) coffee, and volunteers selling red ribbons and collecting donations... but not much of a crowd.





I couldn't loiter long, a lunch break at 3pm is never a long one... but I can hear the band still (we're up to "I Will Survive" - Gloria Gaynor) and that's a happy thing :)

Buy your red ribbons folks.

I ended up with 5... bought one on Friday at Gosford station because I felt sorry for the volunteers who were sure to cop a fair bit of homophobic/racist/ignorant abuse while trying to sell AIDS ribbons to the rednecks.

Then gathered another four during the day today because each of the people I walked past selling them was hotter than the last.
