quiregrrlA day in my life... in pictures!
This is Friday 15th May, a day at work and celebrating Ange's birthday.
I have to set the alarm early, because I can't help but hit the snooze button... repeatedly...
1.
By the time I've hit the snooze button enough to get to now, I'm mostly awake
2.
Macy is also awake and trying to see out the blinds
3.
I hate mornings
4.
I'm not allowed to get out of bed until I've given Macy pats... I'm not very coordinated in the mornings so I usually just hold my hand in place and she does most of the work... hence the blurry head
5.
Morning prep essentials... hair product (note to self, buy more) and glasses
6.
And don't forget the sanity pills
7.
Clothes happen, teeth brushing happens, and on the way out I say good morning to Penny... the best housemate EVER!

Walking down the street to the bus stop
9.
I waved frantically at the bus, but apparently the driver was an arse who decided not to stop as I wasn't RIGHT AT the bus stop when I windmilled in his direction...

Fortunately, another one turned up right behind it

It's only a short ride, and I could easily walk to the station, but it requires far too much energy in the morning

I swap the bus for a train
13.
Trains trips are for reading... actually, reading is the only way I can stand being on a peak hour train with all those other people!

I read all the way into

I love the old part of Central station, this is my view while waiting for the 2nd bus of the morning

Yay! seat behind the driver so I can watch in front of the bus!
17.
I stop off at the Grumpy Baker's for coffee and contemplate the very tempting pastries but I'm still not ready for food.

Taylor Square is strangely empty for this time of the morning... there's usually a group of homeless on the grass patch, and folks heading to work... the emptiness is a bit eerie actually

Mmmmmmm.... nicotine, first smoke of the day, just outside my office

Mmmmmm..... caffiene, sweet elixir of life!

And my workstation, all logged in and ready to go!

The HIV care team had a morning meeting with catering, and lots of leftovers... I snagged a custard tart to have with my second coffee ... nom nom nom

Time check... ugh, how can it still be so early?!?!?!

I emailed my best boy and whined about being bored (it was a quiet day at work) and he sent me a music gift to liven things up... yay!!
26.
I was jiggling in my chair to the music and got distracted by my cleavage... low-cut tops are very distracting...
27.
Time check, it's hard to read but it's about 1:50pm in the reception area, and I'm about to head outside for a lunch break
28.
But first, a quick tidy up of the brows... the light in the work bathroom is WAY better than at home so I keep tweezers in my bag
29.
I pop around the corner to Tin Hong, the dodgy chinese place, coz I am craving something cheap, salty and good
30.
Mmmmm chicken dim sim!
31.
Grab a seat outside the courts in the sunshine to sit and eat and read more of my book
32.
While sitting there, I was approached by a group of people who were on a work team-building treasure hunt, they had to photograph each task and send the pic before they'd be sent the next clue. They asked if they could take a photo of them standing around me doing something random while I kept reading as though completely unaware of them... of course I said yes, as long as they took a pic for me as well!
33.
Back in the office it was still dead quiet and boring... so another time check
34.
Yay end of day empty office... at this point of the day my music is cranked up loud and I'm singing along :)
35.
Sod it, I'm not supposed to finish till 5:30, but it's Friday, it's dead, no-one else is here... I'm outta here!

I check the cells on the way out to make sure lights are off... medical supply cell is my favorite :)
37.
It's my duty to close the gates each night, but someone beat me to it, so I have to go back in and through the building and around :/

The sun sinks below the buildings as I step outside

Back to waiting for public transport... and people watching

Zoooom... on the bus heading to Newtown

Cross the road ...

and then up the street to the pub where friends are gathered to celebrate Ange's birthday!

Jason won the meat tray, he looooooves his meat!

Lots of beer was drunk by others, lots of people came, food was eaten, no photos were taken coz we were sitting outside and it was too dark...
Eventually, Ange and I left... she got to take the meat tray home as it had been decided there would be a BBQ at her place the next day... I made her stand outside the pub with the meat for a classy birthday photo :)

Ange was a little bit too happy to drive, so I chauffered her in her car
46.
We got back to Ange's place where Fatpants was intent on food...
47.
And Doody was intent on being cute...
48.
There were cigarettes and silliness on her front verandah
49.
Then it was goodnight to Ange, and goodnight to Terry (her Gargoyle)

Across the road and down half a block and I'm home

Where my own kitty was also intent on food!

I stood in front of the fridge to see if there was anything worth snacking on... the answer was no.

Telly goes on to catch the late news

While I check email and LJ and facebook

And Macy curls up on the couch doona beside me when she finishes eating
56.
Time for bed... clothes go on the pile of washing to be done in the morning...
57.
A quick shower and then into bed, where more reading happens
58.
Eventually the reading lamp goes off, and I decide to leave the pink lights on for sleeping

Time for sleep
