I need a Dolly Parton CD. Scouted the $10 table at Fish records in Newtown last night certain that I would find something suitable, but alas! it was not to be!

origami stars seem simple but aren't... or maybe I'm just a bit wonky with the fine motor skills required.

I'm really looking forward to "Building Stuff" on the weekend. I am not at all handy, I have USED power tools, but I tend to squeal when doing so, but converting Ange's old shelves into my new bookcase will require nailing and screwing and a power drill and a trip to the hardware store, and it's very exciting! I don't even care that I'm going to seem a complete nunce to the very clever Ange who knows how to do all this stuff and doesn't squeal at the drill!

Today is hideously long and taking FOREVER!!!

The current receptionist here doesn't like me. Like, REALLY doesn't like me. And I'm not sure why... she's lovely and friendly and chatty with everyone but me, with me she is snitty and curt or downright rude and snappy. It's perplexing, and i'm getting a bit over being either deliberately ignored or snapped at. If I wasn't so plucky and resilient I'd almost think I was being bullied. I might give it another week or so and build up some more instances of her being unprovokedly snarky at me in front of other people, and then suggest we have a chat about the situation.

I have discovered that a good 50% of my ... appreciation ... of porn comes (no pun intended) from the audio. I was given a DVD, but I'm missing some doohicky-widget on my laptop to play the audio, so I can watch it but it's all silent... and while the action is rather delicious it just wasn't quickening me the same as usual, and it occurred to me that it was due to the lack of sex noises. I like sex noises :)

I'm seriously over teh fucking Kanye interrupting meme... who CARES?!?!

I need to watch Dirty Dancing again. I love that movie. I'm a sucker for a chick flick and even more so if it involves dancing.

I don't like how hot it is today... it's only September, it's not meant to be this hot in September! Ugh summer.

Bunnings has four-shelf metal shelving unit things for $40. That's pretty much perfect for what I want in the spare room. They also have plastic storage bins really cheap (compared to places like Big W and Kmart). I may have to get myself to Bunnings this weekend.

jb hifi is your friend on the Dolly front... the one in the strand arcade in the city has a reasonable collection of $10-20 cds... most of them are her older stuff... I also have Little Sparrow if you want me to burn it...
