quiregrrlStuff that's happened in the last few days...
* Met L in the city on Wednesday night and went out for dinner, wandered back to Central to catch the train home, checked the board, next train due was going to my station so we got on... all was fine till I noticed we were pulling out of Tempe... which is not on my line... so we got off at Turella, big mistake! Trains hardly ever stop at Turella, so there we sat in the cold night air with other stranded passengers who had also mistakenly trusted that the info on the board was correct... half an hour waiting for a train to stop, 3 went whizzing through at full speed while we played I Spy and 20 Questions... eventually a train stopped and we got on, and had to go all the way back to Central because it went via the airport and missed out Sydenham and Redfern... all up the journey home took one and a half hours... it's only 20 minutes from Central to home... the rest of the evening was spent on the couch watching Law & Order and early to bed... not quite what I had in mind but probably best...
* Thursday the cold/flu thing settled in and by the end of choir practice I felt like crap...
* Friday morning i felt really crap, decided to cancel date with C coz I'm miserable and pathetic when i'm sick and also didn't want him to catch it... about lunchtime we spoke on the phone and he was adamant that he was still coming, with promises of snuggles... so I changed my mind back again... picked him up from work that night and by then I was actually feeling much better, so he didn't have to put up with me being miserable and pathetic, which is good :o)
* Saturday morning we mooched around until it was time to go to the Surry Hills festival.. picked Sp up on the way, drove around forever trying to find a parking spot, ended up being late to warm-up, sent C off with my handbag (giggle)... did our performance which went fairly well, apparently the sound was a bit crap but we still sounded okay... was nice having someone important to me in the audience, I don't often get that.. was also happily surprised to see St in the crowd, I had emailed him during the week and mentioned the festival and that the choir was singing, and he said he might come in but I wasn't expecting it at all, so that was lovely. After we sang, Capital S, Sp, St, C & me wandered around the markets, had some lunch, I bought a fab new bag... it was a nice afternoon...
* Had bangers & mash & gravy for dinner.... mmmmmmm... comfort food :o)
* C rang me at 9pm, and i discovered I'd lost my voice...
* Roger rang me at 10:30pm to tell me mum's in hospital... chest infection, asthma, can't breathe... this is now an annual event... I spoke to her this morning and she's on IV antibiotics and they're probably going to keep her till tomorrow, said she's feeling better already and it's nowhere near as bad as it has been other times... I feel like i should be more concerned, but truly, this has happened every year for about 8 years now, winter comes, mum gets a cold, does nothing about it, it becomes a chest infection, she does nothing about it, then all of a sudden her asthma kicks in and she can't breathe and has to go to hospital.. I find it hard to not just shrug and say "Serves you right for letting it get that bad" .... maybe I am heartless...
* Doing nothing today... well okay, a few loads of washing while the sun shines, but otherwise, laying on my couch breathing vicks vaporub and watching chick-flicks on DVD... woohooo!!!
