Jan. 12th, 2009 09:56 pmThe neighbours kids were singing Happy Birthday a little bit ago... was tempted to go knock on the door and ask if I could borrow a piece of cake... mmm... cake :)
Speaking of being a fatty boombah, I've seen enough episodes of The Biggest Loser to know that they get all preachy about their "programme" not being a diet, but rather a lifestyle change, and they're all about eating well and exercising and blah blah blah... which is a crock of shit to start with because eating carefully controlled meals and exercising 8 hours a day with the goal of losing up to 7kg a week is NOT realistic or healthy or a valid lifestyle... but even if we leave that aside, I wonder how they justify selling meal replacement products under the Biggest Loser brand? There're ads all over TV at the moment advocating replacing two meals a day with a "healthy and tasty shake, soup or bar" from this range of products... Sorry, but that's not healthy, it's not a lifestyle change... it's a short-cut solution to drop weight fast, which will go straight back on when the person stops replacing their meals and starts eating again... it's just yo-yo dieting which has been proven to be more detrimental to health than being overweight. Grrrrr....
Macy seems to have dandruff... it's not attractive, even on a cat... I'd wash her with anti-dandruff shampoo, but that would mean washing her and that's too scary... I've been brushing her lots the last couple of days, and getting SO much fur off her, she's shedding like crazy at the moment... I have four felted Macy-fur balls the size of ping-pong balls now... she likes playing with them :)
I am craving roast pumpkin and peas... nom nom nom...
I watched The View today... well, I had it on while I was writing stuff... Whoopi was wearing spats... phwooooaaarrrr!!!! Saying the quiet thing out loud again... I have such a squishy for Whoopi... smart, funny and hot... oh yeah :)
la la la I should go to bed...

Date: 2009-01-13 03:42 am (UTC)Anyway, you're right. It's a complete crock. If people stick to drinking their two shakes a day, they will lose weight - however, once they reach their goal weight, they haven't learnt anything about nutrition, good health, or eating sensibly, so they just go back to eating the way they always did, and get depressed because they have somehow 'failed'. And, so, the cycle starts again, and they get back on their starvation diet as a way of punishing themselves.
It really irritates me, as you may have been able to tell. I'm seeing more of those ads now that I don't have Foxtel. God, I miss Foxtel...
